>> steve: crazy. anyway, lots going on and another record broken when it comes to the number of migrants in august. the number now it's crazy. over 200,000 in august. over 2 million so far in fiscal year 2022. and when you look at the total from last year up from 1,734,000. that we know of. we don't even count the got-aways. >> carley: yeah. that's right. e. because you have the governors of texas and arizona now florida sending migrants to sanctuary cities, because their whole point is, listen, if you are a sanctuary city. you can better care for these people than we can. and so far texas has sent 8,100 people to washington, d.c. 2600 to new york. and 675 to chicago. and with those numbers, every city has said that this has

caused a crisis. just think about what texas is going through with that number that steve just read. >> steve: everyday. >> brian: so let's think about this. this is august. it's supposed to be a hard month to cross because of the searing heat in yuma and throughout the texas border. and so you have got think the numbers should have dipped and maybe they would have taken advantage of that at the white house and say look, we are getting ahold of this. instead they surged and we are at 2.1 million with months to go until the end of the year. so with everything going on. and the thousands that have crossed, you would think that every sheriff would be focused on how we get that 2.1 million down. how do we get the number of got-aways which could number 800,000 down, no. sheriff harf yea salazar of bear county thinks he has got a problem. and his number one problem is the 60 at tops illegal immigrants that were putter on a plane and sent to martha's

vineyard. and he wants to investigate governor ron desantis. listen to the bear county sheriff. >> our understanding is that a venezuelan migrant was paid, what we would call a bird dog fee to recruit approximately 50 migrants from the area around migrant resource center san pedro here in san antonio, i believe they were preyed upon. somebody came out of state and preyed upon these people. lured them with promises of a better life which is absolutely what they were looking for. to just be exploited and hood winked into making this trip to florida and on yard to martha's vineyard for what i believe to be nothing more than political posturing to make a point. >> brian: the sheriff thinks it's better to be in a pup tent in the texas border than martha's vineyard one of the elite places to live on the planet. so they were hood winked and stuck there in martha's

vineyard. how do you survive on martha's vineyard? >> steve: to your point, brian, about the pup tents, keep in mind we showed the pictures last week of 1,000 people essentially dumped by the federal government on the streets of el paso. and at least, you know, by the grace of god, some of those people were able -- are no longer on the street. but here's the thing. that sheriff we just saw from bexar, he is opening a criminal investigation into the governor of florida. >> brian: unbelievable. >> steve: keep in find. what we know now is apparently this flight, there were two flights that landed in martha's vineyard. governor desantis says they were part of a florida program to relocate migrants from florida to sanctuary cities. >> carley: yeah. >> steve: the more we learn the flights originated in texas and according to the "new york times," none of the migrants actually set foot in the great state of florida. nonetheless, ron desantis taking

some heat from that sheriff right there. he was on with sean last night explaining what happened and the hypocrisy. >> you have 50 die in texas in a trailer because they were being neglected. was there a freakout about that? no, there wasn't. you have had criminal aliens get across that southern border and victimize americans, killing some, raping some. was there any type of outrage about that? no. and then, of course, we know fentanyl depths are at an all-time high? where is that fentanyl coming over? it's coming over the open southern border. it's only when 50 get put into martha's vineyard which wasn't saying they didn't want this. they said they wanted. this they said they were a sanctuary jurisdiction. but that was all virtue signaling and not only did they not welcome them, they deported them the next day with the national guard. give me a break. >> carley: a senior florida official said exactly what florida did and why they decided

on these 60 migrants to go to martha's vineyard. all these people identified as people who are in texas, who wanted to eventually go to florida. they were homeless and sleeping on sidewalks at the time. offered -- the florida officials offered these migrants a voluntary opportunity to go to martha's vineyard. all the migrants were put up in hotels, given accommodations, showers and haircuts. also given bags of snacks on flights. they say nobody was offered or given a promise of any job. and that some of the migrants later expressed thankfulness. and we have heard even on other networks who are trying to criticize this policy that they spoke to these migrants and they are saying this is actually really helping me out this is exactly where i want to be. >> brian: they weren't given haircuts against their will can you check on that? >> steve: voluntary. >> brian: people that braved the jungles. paid off human traffickers to

get there and decided this is the time to come into a wide open border. what ron desantis was effectively doing what governor abbott has slowly been able to do make everyone talk about this ongoing train wreck that's happening at our border that has 4 million plus coming in here. fentanyl flooding into major cities, killing americans at crazy rate and has the administration totally ignoring it. the vice president negligent in her duty, pretending that she is going to go into root causes but, yet, not addressing anything essential in south america, as well as venezuela, cuba and possibly brazil our next place. if this other guy, this socialist ends up winning the election there. there is going to be people coming from brazil here. every socialist country that gradually goes communist, everybody is going to go time for me to go america. president biden opened the border up. no other president would be this ridiculous and this irresponsible. now is the time to come. so ron desantis wants to get attention on this, but this sheriff is going to waste his time investigating ron desantis instead of doing his best to get

the administration to secure the border. this guy, i guarantee you came from their friday meeting on what to do legally to stop abbott and desantis and they enlisted this sheriff. i'm sure that's going to come out. >> carley: also, we have had hillary clinton calling this actual human trafficking without calling out the real human traffickers and the drug traffickers and sex traffickers. governor gavin newsom saying kidnapping charges should be filed. now you have the sherri in exar opening a criminal investigation. bottom line the biden administration is doing the exact same thing. we saw the migrant flights going to west chester and other cities across the country. >> brian: sue them. >> ainsley: el paso busing to other locations. i was reading to the immigration officials in new york city are also going to be facilitating buses to florida because that is where migrants say that they want to go. >> steve: keep in mind they wouldn't have to do that were there not an open border down south. so what are the people of florida and texas going to do

with these migrants? >> carley: there is a solution to this problem. >> steve: exactly, just stop people from coming in. it's interesting in today's "new york times," they did a poll. 51% of all voters agree more with republicans than the democrats on illegal migration. the big question is, seven weeks from today, the midterm elections day, will this be something that turns people out where they say, you know what? that's important to me. i think we should have a secure border or not? we will know in seven weeks and one day. >> brian: the hispanic vote is going to republicans. do you know where of the most going to republicans in the south. counter intuitive. cracking down on the hispanic community. the hispanic community would be upset by that because most of them are from central and south america. no the people that are here legally of hispanic dissent are upset what is happening right now. >> carley: big news here. hurricane fiona category 3 are a slamming the caribbean with

went on rampage when a woman rejected him. the guy with the ax actually spoke to the "new york post." he said that's not what happened. he had gotten into an argument with a patron after a security guard refused to let him use the bathroom. then he was punched by three people and he had to get back. he wanted to show them how tough he weighs. so what did he do? he went to his backpack and got an ax. not a gun but an ax, and that was important. >> that's right. now he is speaking out to the "new york post." he says think about it. if you only think that the thing you can protect yourself with is a gun, we're all going to go to explicative jail. but the hatchet i have my options. oh, okay. throw it or just smash an explicative table with a gun, all you do is shoot. so he is the good guy here. >> brian: that's why he spent 18 hours in prison. he went on to say i'm not unhinged or psychotic i would do what anybody would do when being pummeled. take out your phone and call

years, he would still be in jail. and how he even gets out is unbelievable to me. >> carley: governor kathy hochul said alvin bragg shouldn't have released guy without any bail. also she is the governor doesn't she have the power to change that. >> brian: she did last time. >> carley: needs more information did these bail reform policies are impacting new york. remember when the "new york post" had that reporting? 10 people since bail reform changed, committed 500 crimes. how much more information do we really need? >> brian: that's all you need. she is invisible when it comes to the port authority and what is going on illegal immigrants speaking up and speaking out about sanctuary city status what she wants to do. and virtually invisible unless forced to talk about crime. there has got to be panic in the hochul camp. >> steve: ultimately she does have the ability to fire the d.a. if he doesn't do the job. clearly she doesn't want to. >> brian: she is still evaluating him. >> steve: more coming up straight ahead.

the, you know, from the regular inflation side. it gets very tough. minimum wage goes up again in just a couple months. >> steve: right. >> the people that are above minimum now have to maintain a disparity amongst the entry level positions it's getting very, very difficult. >> steve: keith, tell us about your business. oh, man, those ribs look delicious, good job there everything costs more. it's not just the food. it's the garbage. it's the electricity. you name it. and wait for taxes to go up. keith, what about your business? you are in the cleaning supply business. >> that's correct. yeah. we do home and commercial cleaning. everything i would say starting the last six to 8 months has gone up. we don't get a break on anything. we used to have a package we would get for our new people that started around $90. we're now paying around $130 fr that. that's something we would buy every single week. increase of 30 bucks. we had our first price increase in four years at the beginning

of the summer. it's nonstop. we get, i mean, customers calling in every week. every couple weeks saying, hey, can we get a break on, you know, is there any way can we lower this and lower that? it's not a whole lot i can do anymore with the price. i'm at such thin margins already, i don't have anywhere else to go. >> steve: sure, keith, one of the other problems is because when money gets tight for the consumer, they start to figure out well, where can i cut back? they might cut back in the cleaning department. >> correct. we have-i i was just talking to someone couple months ago wife got laid off her job. hey, we used to get service every week can we go every month or every other month. yeah, do whatever you have got to do. i understand. i completely get it. >> steve: brian, with your business, over in rutherford, new jersey. you need to fill the seats. and so you brought back the

lunch special, even though you might, might make a dollar on it. >> yeah. that's what we did. because, i still have employees and, you know, when we did away with lunch specials at the beginning of the inflation, a few months back, less people came in during the day but i still have cooks that i have to pay and, you know, they have families to feed. so we operate at a break even during the day and we hope to make up on the weekend. and that's coming off of the summer where people are traveling again for the first time it seems where, you know, we operated at a 16% loss all summer. so we are -- now that september is back, we are hoping to make up but we will see what happens. >> steve: yeah. absolutely. well, if the president wants to know what inflation is like at your level, he should call brian flynn and keith troyer. two guys who are sharing their stories and how hard it is to stay above water these days. guys, thank you very much for joining us. >> thanks for having us.

solution that could find of fix that problem and start to help people think through different pathways. >> carley: tell us how it works. schools can sign up to get this program and what's the goal. >> schools sign up for this program. schools in districts adopt find your grind. the goal for us is to build more future-ready students. the product really at the end of the day is all about helping kids think through who they want to be and where they want to go. we do that through a combination of self-discovery, exposure to hundreds of different careers. and most importantly, kind of # 1st century life skills. i think we need to kind of really think about new ways of how we think about preparing kids for the future. it's definitely a different world that we live in today versus, you know, the kind of linear trajectory our parents were on getting the perfect grades, perfect college, perfect life trajectory. life is lot more about fluidity and entrepreneurship and kids are thinking about how they, you know, find meaningful work in

♪ >> brian: seven weeks away. meanwhile a federal appeals court upholding a texas law that seeks to curb censor by social media platforms. federal judge andrew oldman today we reject the idea that corporations have a first amendment right to reject ha people have to say. a battle that could wind up in the supreme court. constitutional law expert jonathan turley joins us now. jonathan, how significant is this. >> it is an enor pursily important case. i think this is likely on its way to the supreme court because another court of appeals in the 11th circuit struck down a similar loss. you now have a conflict between the circuits and issue that could not be more important for the country. so while there is no guarantee that the supreme court will accept the case, this has all the bells and whistles for a

grand of certiorari. >> what are you going to be looking for? >> this is a really tough case saying we have a right to censor. it's unfortunate. because you when the social media companies began, they were viewed as sort of the telephone company. that they were platforms for people to speak to each other. and then suddenly, with the strong pressure from democratic leaders, they started to censor. and it's gotten worse each year. it's trying to re rein this in. but it races tough constitutional questions. >> brian: talk about tough. special master looking at the trump documents taken from his house, originally from rockfield center. trump attorneys given until today to respond to the doj's motion on these classified

documents it. looks like the trump team is saying whatever it is, i don't want anything revealed yet. will they be successful with that and what should their strategy be? >> well, i think that the trump team has got to maintain its position against disclosure, which is based on privilege. >> the department of justice has filed a motion pending appeal with the court of appeals. arguing that they should be given access at least to these hundred documents with classification markings. >> it's a smart move because that's their strongest claim. litigation like hunting the rule is aim small miss small. and they are trying to get those hundred documents. the trump team is arguing that you need to resolve these privilege arguments that we're raising. so we will see how that plays out because this is now a really two front battle you got one going on in the court of appeals

and one going on in front of this special master. >> brian: the problem from the trump side is it would be verbal. trump never put anything in writing saying by the power invested in me i declassify everything i took. >> brian, that's a tough issue that the court is going to have to deal with technically under the law cite in the search warrant, they don't have to be classified in order to be violate those rules. and that's going to be the emphasis of what the department of justice argues. on the other hand, the president is saying i do have executive privilege arguments to make. the district court said look, that's unresolved question. the supreme court has not clearly stated that a former president can make executive privilege arguments. particularly against effectively the current president. so this is a morass for this special master. >> brian: right. >> the first question he is going to have to face is what to do with 100 documents. the department of justice is saying they can't do much unless
